Berlin based booking and promotion company MILK ME has premiered today the third episode on their series which features none other than our favourite power trio Maggot Heart!
The episode includes an interview with Linnéa, Olivia and Uno as well as their full performance streamed at Roadburn Redux earlier this year, with the addition of two new songs taken from Maggot Heart's latest release, the split EP with OKKLUTOKRATI: "No Song" and "Zero Hour Day".
The episode was filmed before Maggot Heart's appearance at this past year's special online edition of Roadburn, so the band talked a bit about their previous show at the festival, their participation in the online edition, the pre-pandemic times, and how they managed to turn the pause from touring due to the restrictions into a productive time focusing on the new material; they also discussed what they have been missing the most and how they have experienced the lockdown times. Linnéa also talked about the main theme which her latest track "No Song" is about and just generally how the city life often inspires her songwriting; on a different note she also speaks about interviewing Motörhead members for her Death beat zine (some issues still available at Rapid Eye Records by the way).
The interview also touches upon their tour with Voivod and how the band is an inspiration to them; how Maggot Heart include elements both from hard rock, post punk and other genres as well which makes the band rather difficult to define on these terms.
Maggot Heart's killer live performance is also part of MILK ME episode and can be streamed below: of course, the LOUDER, the BETTER!, as they certainly spared no energy and delivered a set of highly intense and visceral rock music.
Setlist as follows:
No Song
