"In mirrors digged up from the earth I see myself / Lambent upon my childhood fields in wounds" (Inmost Nigredo) Website dedicated to one of the best dark rock bands ever: In Solitude. As well as to related artistic manifestations.
As you might recall, Henrik Palm also plays guitar in SPHYNXS and on July 19th, 2025 they have brought their street metal madness in Stockholm, opening for none other than legendary Repulsion: a video of their full set is now available on YouTube!
As wicked and nasty as it gets, blast it down below until your ears bleed!
A long-time music maniac and collector, Henrik Palm has recently been interviewed on EFN Ekonomikanalen together with his friend, artist and music promoter Jenny Walroth: both have talked about their t-shirt collections and brought up a pretty impressive amount of memorabilia!
You can watch the full video here below, the audio is in Swedish, however subtitles by YouTube are available in all languages.
Very interesting news coming from Henrik Palm's official social pages: apparently he is already working on a new album, his 4th solo work!
Already back in June of this year actually, in an interview on Rock Hard (see our post here), and later also in other interviews, he has been mentioning that he had already finished writing material for a new album, shortly after the release of his third solo work, "Nerd Icon", in April 2024 (Svart Records).
And now, as we can see and hear on this recent post on his Instagram and Facebook page on December 22nd, 2024, he is indeed actively working to record his new music:
Music and film festival Way Out West, which takes place every year in Gothenburg, has announced the line-up for "Stay Out West", their rich program of after shows: Henrik Palm will play at Musikens Hus on Thursday, August 8th, at 23.30!
Today, April 19th, 2024 Henrik Palm is releasing his third solo album "Nerd Icon" on Svart Records and it is now available to stream on all major platforms!
It is without a doubt an album rich in nuances which spans from heavy moments to passages of melodic calm, with Henke's skillful songwriting shining throughout all the tracks, making it a very captivating and enjoyable listening from the beginning to the end.
Speaking of which, it must be said that it is an album which definitely ends...with a bang!
New show announced for Henrik Palm and Horndal! Additionally to the show in Gothenburg on May 10th, they will also play together on May 9th at Revolver in Oslo.
Today, Henrik Palm is offering us a new foretaste of his upcoming album "Nerd Icon"; due out on April 19th, 2024 on Svart Records: it is now possible to stream the song "Subway Morgue"!
A really catchy yet heavy song, Henke once again manages to capture part of the old school vibes (let's say proto-punk/ proto-metal) and blend it with more modern shades, resulting in a fresh sounding, distinctive style of his own.
In our recent interview, Henke told us that he is really happy with the whole production and with the guitar sound on the album, and now that we have heard two songs off "Nerd Icon" we are certainly starting to hear why: the production truly appears to compliment and highlight the sound of the guitar so well, making it full and "punchy".
The venue will host on May 10th, 2024 actually a double release party: additionally to Henke, in fact, also Horndal will celebrate the release of their album "Head Hammer Man", out on April 5th, 2024 on Prosthetic Records.
Henrik Palm's third solo album, "Nerd Icon", is about to be released on April 19th, 2024 on Svart Records and today, as In Solitude listeners who have been following former members of the band develop and pursue their musical creativity further and beyond in these last years, we are truly excited to share with you all an interview with Henke about his new music!
We reached out to Henke to ask him a little bit of everything about "Nerd Icon", from the writing process to his own perception of the music, from the title to the cover, some hints at future plans...and more: he treated us to some very interesting insights, which are obviously making us even more curious to hear the album! Find out what he told us here below and we hope you'll enjoy reading this as much as we did.
We want to thank Henke once again for taking the time to promptly and kindly answer our questions, it's always great to hear from musicians who are so dedicated to their music.

Right before releasing his acclaimed second solo album "Poverty Metal" in 2020, Henrik Palm told us in our interview: "There is so much going on this album so we'll see how we go through with it all. I don't have a single thought of the live situation when I'm in the studio so when it's time to play live again I guess we have to re-work some stuff to make it fit for five people. Which I see no problem in! It's a thrill to do stuff from scratch and re-arrange some songs. Usually they sound like on the record anyway for some reason."
Then, with the pandemic and everything, there haven't really been any chances to see him performing his new material live: but now it seems the time has finally arrived!
Earlier today in fact, Henrik announced his Poverty Metal Massacre tour: several live dates in Sweden, one in Norway and a couple in Finland, spanning from October 2021 to January 2022.
Confirmed dates so far are as follows (link to tickets and events are updated as they become available):
Henrik Palm's second solo album "Poverty Metal" is going to be released this Friday, October 16th on Svart Records and today, we finally get to hear it in its rocking entirety in advance!
Even at first listen it becomes clear that Henke has delivered once again another solid album, filled with excellent songwriting, developing further his wide range of influences, blending genres while at the same time, adding even more structure to the album as a whole. At times, it almost seems as if the mood of the music has been put intentionally in stark contrast with the lyrics, creating a sort of unreal, weird and subtly uneasy feel. A really engaging experience.
Without further ado, turn up the volume and enjoy!
"Poverty Metal" is out this Friday, October 16th, 2020 on Svart Records and can be ordered at the Trust No One Recordings webshop and at the Svart Records Store.
Svart Records is also reissuing Henke's debut solo album "Many Days" on clear vinyl and on CD.
This Autumn, there are so many excellent releases to look forward to that we decided to make a playlist to recap them all and make it easier to blast all the tracks that have already been premiered so far from these upcoming albums, while waiting to hear them in their entirety! The selection also includes some songs from two great albums which are going to be repressed this Autumn: Henrik Palm's "Many Days" and Maggot Heart's "Mercy Machine". Enjoy!
In less than a month Henrik Palm's second album "Poverty Metal" is going to be released and today an official new video has been published to premiere the song "Given Demon"!
Starting off with a bold and catchy attitude, the song is a real banger and culminates with a more chill-out, lingering ending which gives the listener the time to fully absorb the music.
The video has been shot and directed by Chris Shonting, edited by Jared Sherbert, features Rachel Bulgach as "Given Demon" and sees also a cameo by Jocke Proos (of Vampire, and also part of Henrik's live band).
The entirely black and white visuals follow the character of Henke through different scenes and show him constantly in company of this female figure who seems to haunt him restlessly, however, only at the end, in a revealing and somewhat bittersweet scene, we find out what she is really there for. The grey tone that runs consistently from beginning to end, not only fits aesthetically but also subtly gives away the underlying noir mood of the video.
"Poverty Metal" is out on October 16th, 2020 on Svart Records and can be pre-saved on all major digital platforms at orcd.co/henrik-palm-poverty-metal, while physical copies are available for pre-order at the Trust No One Recordings webshop and at the Svart Records Store for the CD and on vinyl editions (red or regular black).

"Poverty Metal", is due out on October 16th, 2020 on Svart Records and the tracklist appears to be as follows:
"Bully"
"Sugar"
"Concrete Antichrist"
"Given Demon"
"Destroyer"
"Nihil"
"Nihilist"
"Last Christmas"
...Sounds like a fairly apocalyptic list of titles. And most of us are surely looking forward to hearing them all, but today it is nothing less than "Concrete Antichrist" that we get to meet first!
As a foretaste of what's to come, it certainly sounds like a very interesting premise. Hints of prog rock and a bittersweet taste give the song a really intriguing feel, and it truly showcases well Henke's talent in blending several influences to create his own unique style.
