Unpurified and set ablaze - a photo gallery of Unpure live in Dublin

Back in January 2025, black/thrash madmen Unpure played in Dublin as part of Invictus Productions' event series "Death From Below": undoubtedly a great chance for Irish maniacs to see them in an intimate club, where the raw energy of their crushing set hits you hard straight in the face!

Photographer and videographer Ray Keenaghan of RAY K MEDIA was at the show and filmed a visual account of their live appearance:

Alongside this killer footage, he also took some excellent shots of Unpure in action, and he kindly allowed us to publish them: the attentive eye behind the lens has looked  for those striking details which convey all the furious, relentless and raging madness going on at the show!

Unpure announce live dates with Profanation in Summer 2025

New video interview with Kolgrim of Unpure on Rauta's channel

There's a new interview with Kolgrim of Unpure on Rauta's YouTube channel, conducted in December 2024, when the band played Metal Mayhem Mariehamn: an interesting and genuine conversation, which speaks of true and relentless dedication to the music.

Kolgrim discusses the origins of the band, its name, its early times as well as the line-up changes it has gone through; furthermore the conversation touches upon his approach to songwriting, the lyrics, the new band members, playing live, and more.

"I'm putting all my energy on Unpure", said Kolgrim. "Always did and I will probably always do".

Unpure announced for Summoning of Darkness Festival in Stockholm

Black/thrash maniacs Unpure are among the first names announced by Aeternum Concerts for Summoning of Darkness festival!

Unpure announced for Forest Fest Open Air in Switzerland, July 2025

Event organizer La Horde Sequane has just announced the first bands who will perform at Forest Fest Open Air 2025, metal fest in Chevenez, (Switzerland): among them, none other than black/thrash maniacs Unpure, who will bring their crushing attack at the festival!

The other bands announced so far are : Demonical, Infernal Angels, Eurynomos, Wrang, Profanation, Miasmes, Bedrangnis and Stormcrow.

Forest Fest Open Air XIII will take place on July 11th and 12th, 2025 and tickets can already be found on sale on weezevent.com, while further updates on the event and next bands announcements can be followed on the official event page.

Bringing songs to new heights: an interview with drummer Emil Svensson (Degial, WATAIN, Unpure, Livgone)

We are thrilled today to bring you an interview with one of the most diabolical drummers out there nowadays: none other than E.Forcas, whom we all know for hammering the skins in Degial and WATAIN but also in Unpure and in Livgone!
We have reached out to him with a few questions about all his current projects,  his drumming career, his gear and more:  he has offered us some very interesting insights that you can read here below.

Unpure and Xalpen announced for Subterranean Manifestation IV in London, March 2025

Unpure and Xalpen will once again set ablaze the same stage, this time at the 4th edition of Subterranean Manifestation!

The festival will take place on March 29th, 2025 Downstairs at the Dome.

[UPDATED on January 2025: Please note that due to health issues of one of their members, Xalpen will not take part in Subterranean Manifestation.]

 The rest of the line-up so far appears to be as follows: Heinous (BE), OMEGAVORTEX (DE), Sturmtiger (UK),Vortex of End (FR),Deus Vermin(UK).

Further bands are yet to be announced and updates can be followed on the festival's official page as well as on the official event page.

Concrete Winds and Unpure announced for Metal Mayhem Mariehamn

Metal maniacs in Åland, it looks like someone will be back on your soil to bring you some properly devastating death, black and thrash metal: the up and coming event fittingly named METAL MAYHEM MARIEHAMN has in fact just announced that none other than aggressive noise tormentors Concrete Winds and black/thrash metal madmen Unpure will perform at the first edition of the festival, which will take place at Kino Nightclub in Mariehamn on December 28th, 2024!

Torp and Wrecking the Quiet are the other bands among the first names announced and more bands are expected to be presented in the coming weeks: all updates can be followed on the festival's official website and Facebook page, as well as on the official event page.

Tickets are already on sale on Bok.ax!

Unpure to play in Dublin in January 2025

Invictus Productions has announced that none other than the Unpure horde will play a show in Dublin on January 25th, 2025 as part of the label's series "Death From Below"!

Here's the official announcement on the event page:

"Swedish Black Metal legends will perform a special set for DEATH FROM BELOW for the January edition of the series! Coming in the blackest and darkest of winter to spread their unholy gospel! Joining them will be special guest DJ P. Čachtice from Austrian strigoi Transilvania!
Tickets will be slightly more expensive than the usual price for this event due to the band flying in. Places will be extremely limited so we will sell tickets for this online ahead of the show!"

Surely a great chance to see Unpure playing live which shouldn't be missed!

The show will take place at The Thomas House in Dublin.

Matti Jalava of Begravningsentreprenörerna joins Unpure

Right before embarking next month on their Europe Ablaze tour with Xalpen, Unpure have just announced a change in their line up and they are bringing in their ranks none other than Matti Jalava, whom we all know for his previous guitar work in VORUM and as founder/vocalist and guitarist of heavy rockers Begravningsentreprenörerna!

"I’m stepping down as guitarist in Unpure as I have new duties in life that I really need to focus on", explained Pelle Forsberg (WATAIN) about this change in the band - "And I’m fully convinced that Matti will rip that stage away along with the rest of the guys, FTW!”.

Playlist: Soon on stage - first half of 2024

For many bands we follow here at Unearthed Mirrors, the first live shows of 2024 are approaching - with WATAIN, Lukas Häger, Saturnalia Temple and UnoX hitting the stage already next month, followed by PÅGÅ in early March; Unpure and Xalpen will embark on the Europe Ablaze tour in April/May, also in May are a couple of festivals for Maggot Heart and the quite unique Eros At Arms festival for Concrete Winds.

Here is then a selection of music which will be haunting venues in these upcoming months: you might want to blast again the ones you know already, and we surely recommend getting acquainted with those you might not be very familiar with yet, because although covering very different styles, they all have some really excellent music to offer!
