A Surface Catching Fire: a photo gallery of No Future live at Pelago

On August 16th, 2025 No Future have played the release show for their debut full-length "No Future" at Pelago in Stockholm, and, after sharing some moments from the show and the full audio recording in this previous article, we are now returning to talk about this show as we have the chance to see it also narrated through the lens of Astrid Bergdahl, who kindly allowed us to publish these cool shots she took at the concert.

The gallery also includes intriguing close-ups which catch the eye with relevant details as well as some dynamic shots which convey the wild and shape-shifting essence of No Future's music, particularly live.

Hopefully, these images can offer a glimpse of No Future's show also to anyone who, just like us, couldn't be there in person - but certainly was there with the heart!

No Future live at Pelago: moments from the show + full set audio recording

No Future live at Pelago

No Future have recently played their album release show at Pelago in Stockholm, a show that has been described by the people who were there as one of the most unforgettable and striking concerts they have seen: we are sure that's an accurate description and are really glad for all the listeners who have been able to partake!

For those who couldn't be there (just like us, by the way), but also for anyone who was there and wants to see some memories from the show, we are gathering in this page some photographic contributions we kindly received in these days (all due credits below, next to the respective images).

It is also possible to listen to the audio recording of the full show, courtesy of Under the Sun Fanzine (who, as you all might recall, has just published a new issue that features an interview with No Future, and with WATAIN too: more about the zine and how to order it, in this article.)

Photos of the merchandise and of the setlist are also available courtesy of Under the Sun Fanzine.

We will update this post if / when we receive further images and clips from the show, meanwhile thank you all so much for sharing these memories of the concert!

No Future share "Midnight Reigns", a haunting track from their debut full-length

Just a few hours before the release of their highly anticipated debut full-length, No Future have premiered through End All Parties' YouTube channel the track titled "Midnight Reigns".

With its evocative atmosphere,  halfway between nostalgic and contemplative, yet primal in a way, it offers for sure a fantastic premise to the album.
Hallucinating riffs and vocals that cut deep, for a glimpse into No Future's peculiar world.

You can stream "Midnight Reigns" here below, and of course we wish an amazing time to all of you who will be at the album release show in Stockholm this August 16th!

We will share any chance to purchase No Future's self-titled as soon as we are aware of any update.

"No Future" will be released on August 16th, 2025 via Döda Barn Musik & Förlag and Lupercalia Records.

In a strange glade: a photo gallery of No Future & Lukas Häger live in Helsinki

No Future live in Helsinki
by Riku Hyötyläinen

No Future rarely play live, this we all know very well: they may remain silent, or at least so it seems from the outside, for a long while, but what happens in their inner cosmo of creative minds remain behind the curtains and then at one point, they reappear like an unexpected spring of water among the rocks, you didn't see it before but now it's there.
And so it happened also this time, in September of last year when, after about 8 years from their previous show, they announced two live dates in Finland in February 2025: then it was only a matter of a few weeks until they premiered their song "Motherhood", which immediately carried the listeners back into their peculiar and bittersweet atmosphere, making it seem like no time had really passed since their previous release.

A No Future show is then, as we were saying, a strange and rare occasion, and additionally, this time Lukas Häger (who also plays guitar in No Future) was opening both shows, further enriching the evenings with his captivating solo guitar live set.
So, when we saw some striking photographs of their live appearance in Helsinki (shout out to Club Lupercalia not only for organizing the event, but also for sharing some of these images), captured by talented photographer Riku Hyötyläinen, we felt right away that we had to ask his permission to feature them here on Unearthed Mirrors.

During the episode of MusaMusa aired on February 20th, 2025 Radio Helsinki has featured an interview with Pelle Åhman and Olof Stolt of No Future and discussed their recent show in Tampere as well as some stories and memories of their previous show in Berlin (June 2016), how No Future got started, the songwriting process within the band, sources of inspiration, and more.

As mentioned on the 7", Pelle has also confirmed that at some point No Future will release a full-length (the release date is yet to be decided, and he mentioned that they will probably collaborate with a bigger label for the album).

They also premiered their latest single "Pistvakt", from their single "Pistvakt / Motherhood", which has just been released on Döda Barn on February 14th, 2025.

No Future premiere new song "Motherhood" on Radio Helsinki

It is with absolute pleasure and excitement that today we spread this amazing news: No Future have premiered a new song titled "Motherhood" on Radio Helsinki!

The episode of the radio program MusaMusa aired on December 12th, in fact, has featured an interview (in Finnish) with event organizer Mika from Club Lupercalia, who is also handling the two upcoming No Future's shows in Tampere and in Helsinki in February 2025, and on this occasion the program has also premiered "Motherhood".

The episode also featured their song "February" (which can be heard at the very beginning of the show) and Obnoxious Youth's "Imminent Evil" (Club Lupercalia is also organizing Obnoxious Youth's upcoming shows in Tampere and in Helsinki in January 2025).

"Motherhood" is without a doubt a song which condenses all the elements of No Future's music: the haunting and darkly melancholic mood of the melodies, the bittersweet depth of Pelle's voice, combined in a almost spectral, uncanny soundscape.

Art as an endless exploration: an interview with Gottfrid Åhman

Gottfrid Åhman; 2021
We are beyond delighted to bring you an interview with an artist whose music has meant and means so much to many of us: he has been one of In Solitude's founding members and wrote with them some of the most powerful melodic passages and some of the most memorable atmospheric moments of their music; he has been involved in some of the most putrid death metal with Invidious (and produced the ferocious Degial); he has conjured tunes of dark rock with No Future, made some captivating solo music, too; he has performed live with the schizo-rockers Reveal!, and more recently, he has been making some peculiar and striking music in the form of PÅGÅ, once again with his brother Pelle, who has been member with him of most of the aforementioned bands: we are talking of course of Gottfrid Åhman, who has been so kind to answer some questions for all of us about his past and present activities, his inspirations, his creative process and more.
He is also a talented video maker and has directed the fascinating music video for Shaam Larein's song "Aurora" as well as her official live videos; he has also created some otherworldly visuals for his own music, for No Future videos, and for PÅGÅ's songs "Enter" and "Olili": we didn't forget this and in the interview you'll also find some parts which discuss this side of his artistic production.

Throughout all the years this site has been active (since 2013, formerly as Fuck yeah, In Solitude) there have been countless times where we have listened, watched and praised his music and art so we are extremely glad and honored to have had the chance to discuss all this with him, we hope you will enjoy this as much as we did and we want to say a big thank you to Gottfrid for the interesting answers he gave us, offering us an intriguing way to look at his art from his own perspective.
