Right after the release of their fierce new single
"The Howling", WATAIN have announced details regarding their seventh album: it will carry the very promising and intriguing title
"The Agony & Ecstasy of WATAIN", and it will be out on Nuclear Blast on April 29th, 2022,under license from His Master's Noise.
It will come with an amazingly rich in details cover artwork, created by Erik Danielsson himself and Oik Wasfuk, showing the pillars of the Temple of WATAIN framing scenes of demonic chaos, vicious flames and rotten putridity covering everything, like in a Black metal Inferno which awaits the listeners that enter to experience, indeed,
"The Agony & Ecstasy of WATAIN".
Tracklist appears to be as follows:
1. Ecstasies in night infinite
2. The howling
3. Serimosa
4. Black cunt
5. Leper's grace
6. Not sun nor man nor god
7. Before the cataclysm
8. We remain
9. Funeral winter
10. Septentrion
The album has been written by Erik Danielsson, Håkan Jonsson and Pelle Forsberg and it's the first one to be recorded together with their fellow live members Alvaro Lillo, H. Death and E. Forcas (of Degial). We are especially intrigued by the fact that two very special guests on the album are none other than Gottfrid Åhman (which contributed additional lead guitar) and Farida Lemouchi (vocals).
