After In Solitude

In Solitude, 2015
Here on Unearthed Mirrors, we are often asked what In Solitude members have been up to after the band split up in 2015.
Definitely, things have been artistically moving, evolving and spreading in several different directions for most of them: in this post we will try to list (and present, to those who are unaware of) the artistic activities they have been, and are, involved in, as solo projects or as part of other bands/collaborations.

Further updates will be posted here or can be found searching for the specific individual tags linked below.

Pelle Åhman: otherworldly visual artworks, experimental movies, and PÅGÅ

In Solitude's poet and vocalist Pelle has been expressing himself mainly through his visual creations, both solo works and artworks for other musical projects.
He has exhibited some of his impressive and uncanny illustrations in some occasions, and he has also been  active for some time on @diskbankssurrealism, a collaboration which sees him joining creative forces with musician and artist Markus Ahlbom: at the moment we are writing this post, they are working on an upcoming surrealist film titled "Spillkråkan/The Black Woodpecker".
Eldhamn's 's EP cover artwork and VORUM's "Current Mouth" cover artwork are also among his visual creations.
In September 2020, a new musical project formed by Pelle and his brother Gottfrid was announced: PÅGÅ.
Both Pelle Gottfrid occasionally collaborate with other musicians, such as their appearance on Gott's EP "To Hell To Zion", where they guested respectively on vocals and piano on an excellent cover of Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain".
In 2023, Saturnalia Temple announced that both Pelle and Gottfrid have joined Tommie Eriksson to play live.

Both Uno Bruniusson and Gottfrid Åhman have been active in Linnéa Olsson's musical entity Maggot Heart: although only Uno also takes part in live shows, both of them have contributed to music recording and songwriting.More about Maggot Heart on their: Official website - Bandcamp page.
Uno is still part of epic doom metal band Procession, too: they have released their latest album, "Doom Decimation", a majestic work of traditional heavy doom metal, at the end of 2017.

Additionally to being involved with Grave Pleasures during the time of their release "Dreamcrash", and with Death Alley until they went on hiatus in early 2019, he has also been part of the psychedelic/blues/hard rock band Black Salvation from Leipzig: with them, he has recorded and played live an outstanding album titled "Uncertainty Is Bliss" (2018).
Uno has also composed and recorded the soundtrack to Ester Segarra's photography book "Ars Umbra", released on Season of Mist in 2018.

2023 update: Uno has also been creating music with his solo project called Perkwuno, which can be followed on his Soundcloud and on his YouTube channel, as well as on his Instagram profile.
Additionally, he and Xrysafeniax Dadanæ (of Phallucipher ΦΛΣΦΡ and Vortex Era) have been performing and creating experimental music together as UnoX.
Uno also occasionally performs live with Berlin's musician CV Vision, with whom he has also recorded the 2023 album "Im Tal der Stutzer".

Gottfrid Åhman: Reveal!, solo music, visuals and PÅGÅ

Since 2016, Gottfrid Åhman has been playing with Uppsala's genre-elusive psycho entity Reveal!: those who have been following this website for quite a while now, are surely aware of their music, as we often feature them on this space, and a lot can be found spread out through the website. Indeed, their lunatic, uniquely disturbing and deranged kind of rock music makes them very well aligned with Unearthed Mirrors'nature and vision. Reveal! can be followed on the web at their official Facebook page and on their Bandcamp page. (Note: As of 2023, Reveal! are unfortunately no longer active and their Facebook page is not available anymore)
Gottfrid has also been creating some darkly infused, eerie-tinted solo music: it is possible to listen to some of it on his Soundcloud profile and on his Youtube channel. He also makes visual artworks for other musical projects: his video for Shaam Larein's "Aurora" was released in 2019.
In September 2020, a new musical project formed by Gottfrid and his brother Pelle was announced: PÅGÅ.

Henke Palm's solo project and collaborations

Henrik Palm has been active with his own solo project and released an excellent rock album in 2017, "Many Days", currently he is in the process of finalizing his second solo album.
He can be followed on his official Facebook page and on his official Instagram profile.
(On a side note: most people already know Henke played for some time in 2015-2016 as a Nameless Ghoul in the band Ghost and that his involvement didn't end on good terms, this has been widely covered by several mainstream media and it honestly isn't particularly relevant artistically wise, so we won't further elaborate on that here.)

He is also part of Swedish punk rock band Södra Sverige and has been collaborating with several musicians: he has been writing music and playing live with Gösta Berlings Saga, as well as occasionally guesting live with Isotope Soap and Viagra Boys. Some of his appearances on other artists's music include guesting on Naut's song "Semele" (2019), on Automatism's song "Sonar" (2019), on Impure's song "Inexorable Darkness" (2019) and on Manuela Iwansson's song "Strangers on a Train" (2019).

Niklas Lindström: rocking with Begravningsentreprenörerna

At the end of 2019, Niklas Lindström has joined Åland's heavy rock'n'roll band Begravningsentreprenörerna on second guitar.

They brilliantly combine proto-punk elements with classic heavy madness and hard rocking frenzy, through catchy riffs and solid groove, they definitely get you headbanging non-stop. They can be followed on their official Facebook page.

Overall then, we can definitely say that most In Solitude's members really have never left the creative journey they embarked on several years ago when they decided to play together, they might be currently travelling on separated routes sure, but it's nonetheless interesting and fascinating to follow their personal artistic explorations and see where they lead, through a wider range of forms, constellations and directions. Here's to more music and art to experience and immerse ourselves in.
