Stream Reveal!'s new creature "Doppelherz" in all its lunatic entirety!

Rejoice all ye appreciators of the morbid rock lunacy called RVL!

Their fourth full-length, "Doppelherz", out in a few days on Sepulchral Voice Records, is now streaming in all its deranged entirety after premiering earlier today on Decibel Magazine!

As much as we have been listening to Reveal! for quite a long time now, we have to be honest: we are literally SPEECHLESS in front of the compelling and massive work they have been able to create here!, all songs have a distinct character yet they fit together so effortlessly when you stream the entire album from beginning to end, the atmosphere is thick and unnerving and their typical macabre and haunting yet heavy brand of death/thrash/black metal is all over the place and won't leave the listeners time to catch their breath.
WOAH!
Now, we understand what Crakk and Spine meant when they told us in our recent interview that "Doppelherz" is "a fucking new masterpiece album" and that "This is the best thing you're going to hear in probably the rest of your life... it is dark, morbid, menacing and eclectic even for RVL! standards, and their music has never sounded so confident and strong as it does on "Doppelherz".

RVL!'s own Crakk offered on Decibel Magazine a couple of advices about the listening experience:

“Shit to say about ze album:

1. Listen to Doppelherz at a very high volume to hear the textures; clearly, it’s absolutely worth it.

2. Give Doppelherz a few minutes of your time/attention without talking to yourself, with an open mind, etc.

3. Then, if you don’t like it — we just go our separate ways here, retarded one.

Anyway watch out, or I’ll suck your dick ‘boy' "

Well, after listening to the album, it sounds like we are not going separate ways at all, we are not going anywhere without this new creature in fact, we just want it in our lives and ears ALL THE TIME.

But enough words (for now...), press play and venture down the deranged rabbit hole that Reveal! have dug and see you among the hallucinating twist and turns that Doppelherz takes along the way!

Reveal!'s new album "Doppelherz" is out on December 10th, 2021 on Sepulchral Voice Records and pre-orders are now open for the vinyl edition and for the CD edition. Digital edition available on Bandcamp.

Reveal! spread madness with new track premiere "Clearly, God Damn" - pre-orders now open!

It's Friday and if something came over you and you don't know what it was, let us tell you: it was Reveal! Clearly God damn.

In fact, they have just shared a new song taken from their upcoming album "Doppelherz", out in just a few weeks on Sepulchral Voice Records.

The song opens surrounding the listeners in a thick veil of suspense, as if something could be lurking, waiting for you  just behind the corner and quickly escalates into a swirling, chaotic frenzy: if you are in the mood for being chased by an invisible entity made of sanguinary riffs and galloping drums, this song is definitely what you MUST listen to right now. It surely is what we needed here and once again Reveal! have exceeded all expectations.

Along with the track premiere on Invisible Orange, a message by Reveal! presented the song:

"A song to force the realization
That you´ve forgotten your name
Your real name
My real name
It sits high atop the fire place
Looks like burnt up storage space
Gazing down at us
On the glory floor
In battlefield gore
A hard place
All doors shut
All doors locked
A maze to death
We live in slow motion
So with the heart as a tool
Some become monsters
Now horrible
How horrible
Some become nothing"

Start the madness right now pressing play and streaming this new little gem of lunacy titled "Clearly, God Damn" and check out the links to pre-order Reveal!'s new album "Doppelherz"!

Reveal!'s new album "Doppelherz" is out on December 10th, 2021 on Sepulchral Voice Records and pre-orders are now open for the vinyl edition and for the CD edition. Digital edition available on Bandcamp.

Reveal! share "Cokkkfights", new track premiere from their upcoming album "Doppelherz"

The time has finally cum to listen to a track premiere from Reveal!'s upcoming album!

The band has just shared "Cokkkfights", and you can indeed almost see those cokkkks marching in a surreal arena ready to use any trick they have to enter the listeners' subconscious and drag them in a world made of hallucinations that only speak the language of RVL!

The song is a true little gem and definitely takes not only one but ten steps further Reveal!'s very own  way of combining odd, haunting and creepy atmospheres with rusty and psychoactively morbid rock'n'roll. You can hear it's been crafted with a taste for the timeless macabre and a ear keen on the disturbing vibes of the old school metal.

Stream it here below and keep your eyes open for "Doppelherz" pre-orders to begin sometime soon on Sepulchral Voice Records: Reveal!'s fourth creature is being unleashed on December 10th, 2021!

(Un)bracing up for Reveal! 's "Doppelherz": hints from interviews // out on December 10th!

Exciting news for all of us appreciators of Reveal!'s lunacy: their new album, "Doppelherz" is about to be unleashed into this World on December 10th, 2021! It will once again of course be released in conspiration with Sepulchral Voice Records, who introduced the new RVL! creature earlier today with some very intriguing words:

"Ever surprising, ever seemingly in turmoil, Uppsala’s Reveal! have built a shockingly defiant canon of musick over the past decade under this moniker. Keenly note musick: while undoubtedly rooted in metal, these four mavericks have been predictably unpredictable in just how far they’ll push their sound. Their 𝑵𝒐𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑬𝒚𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑻𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒉 full-length debut in 2011 might’ve been bent and broken as far as extreme metal goes, but the follow-up 𝑭𝒍𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒑𝒔 in 2016 began setting Reveal! away from the pack. And like true lone wolves, three years later did 𝑺𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒐𝒅 finally separate the wheat from chaff. A modern classic that confused and cajoled in equal measure, 𝑺𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒐𝒅 set forth a spectrum of sounds which had no precedent. Thirsty and miserable but with beautiful bloodshot eyes, the Reveal! of 𝑺𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒐𝒅 sonically/spiritually nodded to noise-rock of yesteryear – be it The Birthday Party and other ‘80s Australian contemporaries on to the “pigfuck” movement of Big Black, Scratch Acid, Killdozer, and early Pussy Galore – but filtered it through a brittle lens of ancient death metal and first-wave black metal…and yet, it sounded nothing like that at all. LUNATIC ROCK? Maybe. And predictably, Reveal! return with another unpredictable record which asks yet more questions and gives no easy answers: 𝑫𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒍𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒛. Indeed, 𝑫𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒍𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒛 is NOT “easy” – in fact, it’s arguably more challenging than 𝑺𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒐𝒅 – but through some strange sort of magick known only to them, Reveal! here have become more…cinematic? Epic? More “listenably unlistenable”? Truly. But, only half the truth, because the band’s truth could be lies, and lies always entice… 𝑫𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒍𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒛 is lunatic, and it rocks. It IS epic, and it IS cinematic. It’s also more melodic, more wounded, more wasted, more desperate, and also more accomplished and “cleaner” – only VERY relatively speaking, for this is grade-A DIRT we’re still talking about – and more professional/“professional” and even kinda more heavy metal…in the wildest, weirdest way possible. Or, it all just sounds like Reveal! No other outfit dances as dangerously on the thin line between genius and madness as these insane Swedes, and 𝑫𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒍𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒛 is poignant proof."

...Oh, indeed the line gets thinner every album they release, right...
Our eyes intinctively pause on the words LUNATIC - CINEMATIC - EPIC. Curious combination. And this description is indeed teasing us to the point of torture right now, especially thinking back of what Spine and Crakk of RVL! told us in our recent interview about the new album: the words "It's a fucking new masterpiece album" and "the best thing you're going to hear in probably the rest of your life", just to mention a couple of clues they gave us about "Doppelherz", are now buzzing in our minds like a giant fly that just gets bigger every time you look at it...and so does our anticipation for "Doppelherz", indeed.

Then, considering that Crakk mentioned how the cover artwork could accurately represents the new album to someone who has no clue of how it sounds, taking a look at it now... adds to what he said a whole new level of meaning...

(Can't rule out that is going to be also our face when we finally listen to "Doppelherz" and swallow it all like a massive psychoactive musical pill. )
So, what else do we know so far about this new creature that is about to roam freely in a few months?
Well, we have heard thus far one song taken from the album: the single "Some Marionettes, Some Kites (A Few Knives)" has been out since July, and we know that according to Spine, the song has been chosen as first single, aside from the brilliant title, because out of all the rest it is "most normal thing" that's going on there. (Putting the 7" on...spinning it again...alright, the most normal thing. Good, very good. The rest might just be pure insanity at this point, excellent.)

We also know that Affe of Obnoxious Youth co-produced it, and he told us that "adding Viktor from Dictator Ship on drums took things to a whole new level" and defined the new album as "an absolute masterpiece".

And all three of them have confirmed that we can expect "Doppelherz" to be, production-wise, the "cleanest" sounding Reveal! album to date, particularly because of many details they added which they didn't want to get lost in the recording. So, they "felt it was necessary to do a clean record", however they also told us that they love gritty recordings. So, clean, but still a Reveal! kind of clean.

The recording of Reveal!'s fourth full-length took place at The Dustward Studio, with Stefan Brändström, who "knew that studio very well and totally got what we wanted to do. Which I think it's not that common, so I think you should be happy,if someone gets it", told us Crakk. "I think he got inspired, and we got inspired by that, so a spiral upwards", said Spine.

Another fact about "Doppelherz" that we are aware of is that this time, all the music has been written by Spine alone: "the recent album is like Lukas' solitary", told us Crakk; and Spine added "this time I spent lonely time in my house and just wrote all the stuff".

Sepulchral Voice Records has announced that there will soon be a song premiere and further info.
Putting together clues and bits of details here and there is certainly making it sound as we are going to meet another captivating, surprising and eccentric creature spawned from Reveal!'s creativity and uniqueness.
And now that all this foreplay got our ears properly juicy and thirsty, we couldn't be more eager to hear it. Ready when you are, "Doppelherz".

...And then you throw in the knives - A Conversation with Spine and Crakk of Reveal!

Spine and Crakk, filming the "What Pigs Get" video

This needed to happen sooner or later on Unearthed Mirrors. We have been thinking about this for quite some time, we know there are a lot of other people here who have been waiting for this, too; and finally, today, we are tremendously frenzied to present you an intriguing and very fascinating interview with two creative minds whom we are particularly fans of: Crakk and Spine of Reveal!, who have kindly agreed to let us in on the band's twisted world... Or maybe it was slightly sadistic, who knows, and they just wanted to carry all of us inside Reveal!'s lunacy...fair enough either way, both cases are just equally enjoyable.

As most of you already know, Reveal! have just released the single "Some Marionettes, Some Kites (A Few Knives)" from the their upcoming fourth full-length.

They have shared with us, through this very genuine conversation, an insight into their sources of inspiration, their approach to music, art and songwriting, some fun memories and even some hints and teasers about their much anticipated upcoming fourth album.

We hope you will enjoy this as much as we did - let's go!

Affe Piran of Obnoxious Youth: "The main purpose will always be to communicate complete and utter chaos"

We are thrilled here at Unearthed Mirrors to feature a conversation with a man behind so many projects that we all have been appreciating for quite a long time now: from the speed heavy metal madness of Obnoxious Youth, to the unforgettable artwork of In Solitude's self titled debut album; as well as the apocalyptic doom of Endtime and recently we have also become aware that he is going to be part of another creature we are totally looking forward to: he is in fact also producing nothing less than Reveal!'s upcoming album.
Sure we should not forget to mention that he was in Uppsala's hardcore band Undergång (as you might remember, Uno of In Solitude used to be part of the band, too, and we possibly can't mention them without linking to this historical photo here); and that he also recorded VORUM's death metal assault "Poisoned Void". Indeed, the list could go on and on and by now you have probably guessed that we are talking about none other than Affe Piran, who is mostly known for being the vocalist of Obnoxious Youth, but has been, and is now more than ever, recklessly busy spreading visual and musical blasphemies in a lot of ways. Read below what he had to say about Obnoxious Youth's latest EP "Mouths Sewn Shut", about painting the cover artwork for In Solitude's debut back at the time, about DIY culture, the Reveal!'s album he is producing and more.

Mixing new and old, stirring it up well, here's our playlist "New Music, Old Nightmares" : wherever you are right now, turn up the volume and blast this loud!

New Reveal! video for "Decomposer"

Time for some visual eeriness to accompany Reveal!'s creepiest and most subtly disquieting song: "Decomposer"!
It's certainly a track that stands out on "Scissorgod" - and throughout all Reveal!'s discography, actually - with its distinctive atmosphere, its unnerving yet captivating melody and its whispering vocals, which give in to that few louder outbursts only enough to disclose a glimpse of the true, deceptive nature of the song's only seemingly quite-paced mood.
In this video, made by our long-time conspirator in rotten graphic Vesperalia, visuals are arranged as to keep up with this twisted dynamic, and scenes of different levels of organic decomposition alternate with images of intrusive visions and disquieting details, as if to suggest an increasing corrosion of mental lucidity at play; throughout the whole video, images of sand inexorably flowing through a hourglass repeatedly show up, like an uncanny memento mori.
"Decomposer" is the third song on Reveal!'s latest album "Scissorgod", released on Sepulchral Voice Records on November 29th, 2019 and it can be purchased on vinyl and on CD at End All Parties, along with their latest merchandise, and digitally on Bandcamp.
Press play here below to watch the video for "Decomposer" and don't be surprised if the rotting smell reaches you while watching...

Reveal! and Ultra Silvam tour in April/May 2020

If a sensation of impending doom has been polluting the air recently now it's clear where it came from: the cleverly wicked entity that goes by the name Absurde Rituale, whom we have previously met also as booking agent for Obnoxious Youth, has been conspiring in the dark (at least until now) to bring an absolutely ominous combo on the road: our favourite psychoactive quartet from the grave Reveal! and Swedish black metallers Ultra Silvam will in fact embark on a tour together in April/May 2020!
Dates between April 17th, 2020 and May 1st, 2020 are available to book: promoters, venues, and other malefactors of any sort who wish to spread the pestilence and bring this tour to their town should definitely not hesitate and contact Spitzl of Absurde Rituale at: absurde-rituale@hotmail.com.

Meanwhile, on Bandcamp it's possible to blast both Reveal!'s deranged creature "Scissorgod" and Ultra Silvam's ferocious beast "The Spearwound Salvation".

Reveal!'s "Scissorgod" full stream, pre-orders and merch now available!

After waiting impatiently for Reveal!'s third creature to be unleashed on November 29th, today, unexpectedly in advance like an eiaculatio precox, "Scissorgod" has cum!

The album can now in fact be streamed in its entirety, yes, it's here, it finally cuts through the ether with its sharp and rusty blades, reaching our eager ears, and...oh man. OH FUCK if that isn't the most putridly striking, nasty and mindfucking rock music you'll hear around nowadays!

Reveal! has spawned something unique, which once again takes their listeners by surprise and makes them question , not necessarily in this order, their own ears, their own mind and ultimately what the hell they've been listening to before Scissorgod.  It's a foul-stenching offering to the altar of creative lunacy,  which carries you to places you didn't even think existed, and do they...?, well it doesn't matter, Scissorgod doesn't care about what exists or not, it creates its own fucked up world and it is only for those who venture to listen to the music and give it total control, so that when you seem to have sort of sensed the direction it is taking you, it suddenly takes a twist, and you find yourself spiraling up and down a seemingly bottomless wormhole of sounds and madness.

Scissorgod cuts the umbilical cord to the placenta of music categorizations, and allows us to suck the stem cells of genuinely inspired music which spills out.

But enough, without further ado, here is the whole creature, to anyone who is joining us in listening, we wish you unsafe travels, maybe we'll spot each other around in a reflection on Scissorgod's blades...Meanwhile, Sepulchral Voice Records has opened pre-orders for the LP and CD version of the album, as well as for the official album t-shirt and another new t-shirt design titled Missljud.

Updates:All Sepulchral Voice Records' releases, thus including Reveal!'s, are now available officially through High Roller Records. Reveal!'s official shop can be reached at End All Parties.

After In Solitude

In Solitude, 2015
Here on Unearthed Mirrors, we are often asked what In Solitude members have been up to after the band split up in 2015.
Definitely, things have been artistically moving, evolving and spreading in several different directions for most of them: in this post we will try to list (and present, to those who are unaware of) the artistic activities they have been, and are, involved in, as solo projects or as part of other bands/collaborations.

Further updates will be posted here or can be found searching for the specific individual tags linked below.

Clever, Harder, Reveal!er: anticipating "Scissorgod"

After the latest track premiere presented on Decibel Magazine from Reveal!' s upcoming album, and at less than one month from its coming, the level of anticipation for "Scissorgod" is ranging from the pits of Hell to the peaks of Heaven and therefore it felt like a proper time for an introductory recap about all that has been unveiled so far regarding this enigmatic creature which is about to crawl out of its nest soon-yet-not-soon-enough.

(DISCLAIMER: Please be forewarned, this is intentionally emphasized because aimed at building up the anticipation in appreciators of Reveal!' s music, it's not intended for the casual listener, nor for the "TLTR" kind of readers.)

Going back in time, the very first sign of its existence that we know of, or at least that something was lurking somewhere in the mind of the psychoactive quartet, came from the Tighter, Tighter tour in February 2018, when a previously unheard song was noticed in the live set, stirring curiosity and making its way into the audience's ears as a subtle yet assertive preliminary, an untold promise that perhaps there would have been more to come at some point in the future.
