Footage of PÅGÅ and Lukas Häger live in Budapest on March 11th, 2024

As part of their recent 4-date tour with Whalesong, musical wanderers PÅGÅ and guitar charmer Lukas Häger have played live at A38 in Budapest on March 11th, 2024 and courtesy of musical blog Scrolls Of Darmoth some good quality footage of both sets is now available to watch.

Direct yet subtle, intensely moving and deeply evocative like Lukas' solo guitar set can be, it certainly makes for a stirring experience: listening to his album is undoubtedly something that can touch upon so many emotions, and seeing the music taking life as he is playing, as the sound unfolds from his hands, from the strings, from the profound connection between the musician and his guitar, just takes everything to a whole new level - it becomes even more striking, more vivid, like walking barefoot on the trail of one's feelings.

Describing PÅGÅ's set as a musical performance would be, of course, an enormous understatement: they summon a wide range of soundscapes, at times menacing, at times contemplative, at times raw, always engrossing. Here we venture in the territory of experimental in the pure and wholesome sense of the term; the artists experiment with their sounds, voices, feelings and intuition, and in turn, the listeners are invited, almost compelled, to experiment with their response, to abandon for some time the limitations of the body and search beyond, through the music, inside the music. Sure, everyone can decide to experience this in whichever way they want and simply listen, it still remains a great dark ambient/noise musical set, but for some (probably for many of us here who have been following them since their previous bands, too) it would be difficult to ignore that sentiment of spiritual awakening evoked by PÅGÅ's music, at the very least it screams for an awareness, and as they offer such a powerful and effective channel to the audience, it is a great opportunity to open one's self to other energies and possibilities, beyond the ordinary.
