Music, a living organism - An interview with Lukas Häger about his solo tour, future plans and more
We are delighted today to publish on Unearthed Mirrors this interview with a guitarist who has been constantly writing and playing quality music throughout the years and throughout different genres: Lukas Häger, a modern bluesman who certainly has composed some of our favourite riffs ever.
Most readers here surely have heard him playing guitar in different bands - mainly in Reveal! (as Spine) and in No Future, also in GRAVMASKIN and live with Obnoxious Youth in more recent times - last week it has also been announced that he has officially joined them as a steady member of their live line-up.
The following conversation however will be completely focused on his solo music: his guitar sorcery, as we often call it here, because - as those of you who have listened to his instrumental solo music will know - it has that captivating, spellbinding and almost uncanny ambience which is able not only to keep the listeners immersed, but also to actively carry them along in the passages unfolded through the strings. [For those of you unfamiliar with Lukas' solo music, we recommend reading our Focus On article about him.]
His first solo album, "Folkmord I Ting" was released on his own label End All Parties in September 2023, he then has been bringing it live on several dates, including on his first solo tour across Europe in February 2024.
We reached out to him to ask him about this experience, how he feels about the album after some time has passed, his influences, his future plans and more: he has kindly offered us some interesting answers, which we find to be a really fascinating way for anyone who appreciates his music to add a deeper perspective to it.
We want to thank Lukas for taking the time to answer our questions and we hope that you all will enjoy reading this as much as we did!
Throughout the interview as well as at the end of it, you will find all the links to listen, buy and follow Lukas' music.

Genocide in Objects: a photo gallery of Lukas Häger live in Linz

Some days ago we stumbled upon some captivating photos of his show and something about these shots really stuck with us: the noisy feel, the velvet-like texture of their shades, the inspired angles, everything in these images seems to speak of Lukas' music so well. A sort of uncanny calm - which is violent yet placid at the same time.
So, we contacted the talented photographer who took them, Miriam, to ask her permission to publish the photos. She kindly agreed and sent us her photographs, which we are really glad to share with all the readers and Lukas' listeners.
The Devil is in the details, as the saying goes, and so is Blues music: these images let us appreciate that in a really fascinting way.
For a more comprehensive experience, we listened to Lukas' album "Folkmord I Ting" while browsing the gallery, and strongly recommend doing so - the title of the album, as you might recall, is also translated in English as "Genocide In Objects" and perhaps, that's also somehow what is reflected these photos, too.

Saturnalia Temple, Lukas Häger and UnoX live in Brussels - moments from the show
This past Saturday, Saturnalia Temple have played in Brussels the release show for their album "Paradigm Call", alongside Dread Sovereign, Lukas Häger, and UnoX.
It was also the debut of Pelle and Gottfrid Åhman as part of the new live line-up of Saturnalia Temple, so definitely a special occasion - since the change in the line-up was announced some months ago, there has certainly been a lot of anticipation to see this exceptional trio on stage!
So we are gathering here some first impressions which have appeared on the web so far (unfortunately, IG stories disappear after 24 hours, so the clips which were posted in that -ugh- format, can't be accessed anymore).
Hopefully there will be more, including some of Lukas Häger and UnoX, too; we will be updating this post if anything else appears in the next days.
Saturnalia Temple's new album "Paradigm Call" is out on March 1st, 2024 on Listenable Records - available at this link!

Focus On: Lukas Häger
![]() |
Lukas Häger in 2023, Photo by Björn Arnemo |
Our "Focus On" series to highlight the musicians and bands who will play live in the next months continues today with Lukas Häger, who will embark on his first solo tour from February 8th to February 17th, 2024.
Most of us have of course firstly known Lukas as Spine of Reveal! and as co-guitarist in No Future. Particularly, his riffs-from-the-crypt and those dagger-sharp solos, got many of us hooked to Reveal!'s lunacy - and still keep us hooked, by the way.
Around the year 2015, he started End All Parties: both a channel which used to air sessions of musical explorations and broadcasts of live bands (Saturnalia Temple among the first ones who appeared there), and a label which has released Reveal!'s singles and all Lukas' solo music (or at least, all of his music that has been released so far).
As years passed, through End All Parties some of Lukas' solo material began to be shared and from time to time, some ghastly, captivating pieces of solo guitar music would make their appearance on the web, like some little traces left here and there to follow a path which would slowly and unpredictably lead the listeners to know more and more of this bluesy/folk/ambient side of his music.

Saturnalia Temple's new album "Paradigm Call" is due out on Listenable Records in early 2024 and, after the recent announcement of their appearance at Celestial Darkness Festival in the UK with their new line-up - which now features none other then former In Solitude Pelle & Gottfrid Åhman - A Thousand Lost Civilizations has revealed earlier today that a release show for the album will be held at Le Lac in Brussels on February 24th, 2024!
But there's more: special guests for this event will be a really excellent combination of musicians, joining Saturnalia Temple that evening in fact, alongside Dread Sovereign, our favourite riffs weaver Lukas Häger and electro-rhythmic experimentalists UnoX (Uno Bruniusson and Xrysafeniax Dadanæ)!

Lukas Häger shares new track from his upcoming album "Folkmord I Ting"
![]() |
Lukas Häger's upcoming album "Folkmord I Ting" is certainly an album that we are much looking forward to, having always appreciated how Lukas' eclectic songwriting can take you to unexpected places and surprise you in multiple ways.
Today, he has just shared a track titled "Invändiga Pilar" ("Internal Arrows"), and undoubtedly, it is an ethereal, almost spectral ambient piece that subtly makes reality thinner and surrounds the listeners with a kind of immaterial veil made of sound.
From End All Parties ' Facebook page, Lukas has informed that there has been a delay in the test pressings and therefore the release date is still uncertain. Hopefully, this will be solved soon so that the album can be pressed and delivered to all of us listeners who are waiting to immerse in the music it contains!
Lukas has also mentioned that the album artwork will be handmade and unique to each copy (of the first pressing).
You can listen to "Invändiga Pilar" here below and follow Lukas on Facebook and on YouTube.
