As you might remember, back in August 2021, six musicians performed together as Uppsalas Fria Orkester at Kulturhuset Femman:
Uno Bruniusson on Drums,
Gottfrid Åhman on Guitars,
Pelle Åhman on Bass & Percussion,
Simon Sporrong on Keys,
Bengt Blomberg on Synth and
Markus Ahlbom on Guitar and Bass
(who also kindly uploaded the video of the whole session, that you can watch here below).
A group of friends jamming together, a very natural wordless communication through the music, and a magic that happens spontaneously, the music shapes itself and they offer the listeners such an enjoyable and captivating performance.
More or less one year later, there was another chance to see the Uppsalas Fria Orkester performing live, once again at Kulturhuset Femman, on September 1st, 2022: this time the event also included another fascinating performance on the same evening, as also Lukas Häger played his enchanting solo guitar set, a really excellent match of musical atmospheres.
That time, the musicans involved were:
Bengt Blomberg on Synthesizer,
Uno Bruniusson on Drums,
Svante Phil on Bass,
Pelle Åhman on Percussion, flutes and noise;
Gottfrid Åhman on Guitar,
Simon Sporrong on Organ and Trumpet;
and Markus Ahlbom on Bass and Guitar.
Both sets have been later made available to watch, and we highly recommend enjoying a musical ride with both live sets -whether you already watched them back at the time or not- you can find both in this archive post we published back then.
Next week, on March 15th, 2024, a new live appearance of this free-spirited musical entity called Uppsalas Fria Orkester will take place at Uppsala Konsert & Kongress, and will bring together once again the following musicians:
Uno Bruniusson on drums, percussion, Nord drum pads;
Svante Pihl on bass,
Pelle Åhman on percussion, flutes, loops, woodwind, noise;
Gottfrid Åhman on electric guitar,
Bengt Blomberg on synthesizer,
Simon Sporrong on organ, keyboard, saxophone;
and Frans Arvidsson on electric guitar, cornet.
The event, Demoteket #3, is presented by Uppsala Musikdemo and Uppsala Konsert & Kongress, and will also bring to perform on the same evening, Colin And The Clouds and Ångvält .
