"In mirrors digged up from the earth I see myself / Lambent upon my childhood fields in wounds" (Inmost Nigredo) Website dedicated to one of the best dark rock bands ever: In Solitude. As well as to related artistic manifestations.
A really captivating piece of noir ambient/bluesy jazz has been unveiled today on End All Parties: the song, titled "Gas Station & Half Moon" , belongs to a previously unheard band named Hundkloaken (Swedish for "dog" + "sewer" , as they explain in the description), founded in the Winter of 2021 and featuring members from some of our all time favourite bands from Uppsala: Pelle & Gottfrid Åhman (of course of In Solitude / Invidious / PÅGÅ / No Future...), Lukas Häger: (Spine of Reveal! / No Future / End All Parties) and John Sijbren Leonard (of Dictator Ship).
Music here is more of a storyteller, a narrator in the shadows who is only waiting for someone to listen and become a auditory witness to his story.
With its hazy and evocative mood, it makes for a perfect company to a contemplative summer night.
Hundkloaken is:
John Sijbren Leonard on Cornet
Pelle Åhman on Drums
Lukas Häger on Guitar
Gottfrid Åhman on Guitar and Bass
We recommend using your headphones to fully immerse in the gloomy atmosphere of the song.
One year ago, right before the RVL! and Maggot Heart tour began, a little gem of experimental music created by Lukas Häger (guitar player of RVL!, No Future and founder/curator of End All Parties) was released on cassette on a strictly limited edition: Assassinaxions' "Opening A Cold Hole" . Now, for all those who couldn't get a copy at the time, it is available online to stream: a perfect chance to immerse in something genuinely compelling and uncanny, to explore the multifaceted experimental sides of music.
" Night Night Flies crawl Night Flies crawl Night Serpents die Night Dragons are born Eggs are cracked Serpents rise Night Moons are drunk From the shell"
("Night", Lapis Niger)
As the darker season of the year is upon us, it couldn't be a more appropriate time to immerse ourselves in a new song by Lapis Niger, which has been published online on Belzebez' Bandcamp, as part of a compilation titled Dyer's Pledge that is dedicated to the memory of an occult book and curio shop in Gothenburg, Vansinnets Berg ("The Mountains of Madness"), along with an obituary written by its proprietor.
The album also sees the contribution of several other well known ritual and dark ambient musicians and can be heard in its entirety at belzebez.bandcamp.com/album/dyers-pledge.
Lapis Niger's song, fittingly titled "Night", embraces the listener with its brooding and captivating tone, making for an otherworldly musical experience. The song can be streamed below.
