Henrik Palm's third solo album "Nerd Icon" out now and streaming in full!

 Today, April 19th, 2024 Henrik Palm is releasing his third solo album "Nerd Icon" on Svart Records and it is now available to stream on all major platforms!

It is without a doubt an album rich in nuances which spans from heavy moments to passages of melodic calm, with Henke's skillful songwriting shining throughout all the tracks, making it a very captivating and enjoyable listening from the beginning to the end.

Speaking of which, it must be said that it is an album which definitely ends...with a bang!

Henrik Palm premieres "Subway Morgue" from his third solo album

Today, Henrik Palm is offering us a new foretaste of his upcoming album "Nerd Icon"; due out on April 19th, 2024 on Svart Records: it is now possible to stream the song "Subway Morgue"!


A really catchy yet heavy song, Henke once again manages to capture part of the old school vibes (let's say proto-punk/ proto-metal) and blend it with more modern shades, resulting in a fresh sounding, distinctive style of his own.

In our recent interview, Henke told us that he is really happy with the whole production and with the guitar sound on the album, and now that we have heard two songs off "Nerd Icon" we are certainly starting to hear why: the production truly appears to compliment and highlight the sound of the guitar so well, making it full and "punchy".

Henrik Palm's third solo album, "Nerd Icon", is about to be released on April 19th, 2024 on Svart Records and today, as In Solitude listeners who have been following  former members of the band develop and pursue their musical creativity further and beyond in these last years, we are truly excited to share with you all an interview with Henke about his new music!

We reached out to Henke to ask him a little bit of everything about "Nerd Icon", from the writing process to his own perception of the music, from the title to the cover, some hints at future plans...and more: he treated us to some very interesting insights, which are obviously making us even more curious to hear the album!

Henrik Palm's new single "Swim To The Light" out now - third album "Nerd Icon" out in April!

We've been impatiently waiting to hear what our favourite Misantropisk Noiserocker has been working on during last year with his new record, and today, just like that...he has just dropped a new single!

The song, titled "Swim to the Light" is out now on Svart Records and can be streamed on all major platforms (here below via YouTube)

It sounds like Henke has returned with a really fantastic sound and this song surely has everything it needs to get stuck in your head, heavy riffing, catchy beat and that finale chanting the title like a mantra...no doubt you are going to be singing it along for a while after you've heard it!

Maggot Heart release new video for the song "This Shadow"

The latest single by power trio Maggot Heart just got the video treatment and today the band has released this new visual piece to accompany their song "This Shadow"!

The video has been directed by Finnish artist and director Tekla Valy who made use of a very fitting combination of light and darkness, exposure and color balance to surround the band - and the eerie dancer who haunts the video here and there - with moving shadows and little creepy figures, adding a touch of dark and ghastly atmosphere.

 Images of Linnéa, Oliva and Uno playing close to a fire in a cave alternate to the uncanny silhouette of the dancer who projects her shadow across, matching the title of the song and the reflections narrated in the lyrics.

Maggot Heart share new song "This Shadow" from their album "Hunger"!

Maggot Heart's upcoming album "Hunger" will be out in less than two months and today, another new track has been unveiled: coming in strong with Linnéa's catchy riffing, "This Shadow" escalates in a heavy momentum which unleashes the power trio's intense energy, and combined with Maggot Heart's characteristic self-reflective, slower paced parts, create a really dynamic sound.

   The band has also disclosed that a music video for the song is coming soon, so stay tuned for that!

Shaam Larein's new single "Murderer" is out today on Svart Records and to celebrate the release, they have shared a brand new video shot and directed by Gottfrid Åhman, who also directed their previous video for "Aurora". And once again the choice couldn't have been more appropriate, as this new piece of cinematic spectral reverie perfectly conveys the atmosphere of the music and adds even more intensity to the three powerful voices of Shaam Larein's vocalists, which coil together so elegantly. The song escalates in a menacing and captivating feel which keeps the listeners in a sort of suspended moment, while at the same time shaking them with the almost dramatic dark rock sound of the intruments.

Follow PÅGÅ in the strange maze of their charismatic debut "The Evil Year"

We have been eagerly waiting to hear it, anticipating it, trying to imagine how this creature would have been like, what sounds it would have contained and now...here it finally is: today PÅGÅ's debut album, "The Evil Year", is out there and can be streamed in its compelling, strange and otherworldly entirety.

And it is nothing like we could have ever imagined. It's much, much more than an album, it spans from the imminent to the remote, from the here to the furthest, casting a long, murky shadow for the listeners to follow and see where it leads them.
And at times, following "The Evil Year" in its twists and turns, feels a bit like wandering among the catacombs of the damp wine cellars in Edgar Allan Poe's tale "The Cask of Amontillado", you start to get more and more inebriated as the music becomes the molecules of the air you're breathing, but instead of ending up entombed alive like in Poe's famous tale, you proceed along a labyrinth of drum beats and strange sounds, never at your own pace, but at the album's complete mercy. With a sequence of hallucinatory-like scenes showing a disquieting figure running incessantly, the video builds a thick layer of subtle suspense and looming anticipation, properly introducing the listener into the spectral mood of "Olili", the first purely instrumental -and darkest, so far - song premiered from the album.

Henrik Palm's new album "Poverty Metal" now full streaming!

Henrik Palm's second solo album "Poverty Metal" is going to be released this Friday, October 16th on Svart Records and today, we finally get to hear it in its rocking entirety in advance!

Even at first listen it becomes clear that Henke has delivered once again another solid album, filled with excellent songwriting, developing further his wide range of influences, blending genres while at the same time, adding even more structure to the album as a whole. At times, it almost seems as if the mood of the music has been put intentionally in stark contrast with the lyrics, creating a sort of unreal, weird and subtly uneasy feel. A really engaging experience.

Henrik Palm premieres video for new song "Given Demon"

In less than a month Henrik Palm's second album "Poverty Metal" is going to be released and today an official new video has been published to premiere the song "Given Demon"!

Starting off with a bold and catchy attitude, the song is a real banger and culminates with a more chill-out, lingering ending which gives the listener the time to fully absorb the music.

The video has been shot and directed by Chris Shonting, edited by Jared Sherbert, features Rachel Bulgach as "Given Demon" and sees also a cameo by Jocke Proos (of Vampire, and also part of Henrik's live band).
The entirely black and white visuals follow the character of Henke through different scenes and show him constantly in company of this female figure who seems to haunt him restlessly, however, only at the end, in a revealing and somewhat bittersweet scene, we find out what she is really there for. The grey tone that runs consistently from beginning to end, not only fits aesthetically but also subtly gives away the underlying noir mood of the video.

Amazing news arriving from Svart Records that will surely see many of us appreciators of In Solitude getting really excited about this new project announced today: PÅGÅ is a musical entity created by none other than Pelle and Gottfrid Åhman, and their debut, titled "The Evil Year", is due out on November 27th, 2020! 

In the label's official statement, we can read how they present themselves: "“Out of a great lust to encounter the unknown and to explore the boundless in us this record/work came about, in the hands of The High Spirit Rebel. We wish this may serve as great entertainment, a bad enemy, an instrument and a match. Enter! Step in!”

PÅGÅ is described by Kvohst (of Grave Pleasures, Hexvessel, and Svart Records) as “Post-Punk freakery, like Birthday Party era Cave, avant-garde Bowie and the darkness of Coil with unique artistic flair that’s in a world of its own.”

Sounds absolutely intriguing and it is certainly something we'll be looking forward to!

Exciting news today for all of us appreciators of Henrik Palm's music: the release date, the cover artwork, the tracklist and the first single from his second solo album have just been revealed!

Interview: Henrik Palm about his second album, signing with Svart Records, and more

Back in 2017, when Henrik Palm's first solo song was premiered ("Elephant") and shortly after it was announced that a full-length album would have followed, many of us, who of course have been knowing him for his crucial role in In Solitude, immediately picked up on his solo music too, intrigued to hear more after listening to a first taste of it, which sounded remarkably peculiar and very promising.

Indeed, when his debut album, "Many Days", was released on Gothenburg label FETISH, it instantly became an all-time favourite of many of his listeners, finally able to enjoy his talented songwriting, his wide-ranged influences and his guitar skills complementing each other brilliantly in a solo environment which allowed him to fully express himself. And it also immediately gained him several new followers, captivated by the album's nods to punk, to noise rock as well as to industrial and experimental music, all of these blended together skillfully, at the same time creating a strange, dark in its very own way atmosphere throughout the whole record.
Now, he has recently completed his second solo album, titled "Poverty Metal", and he has teamed up with Finnish label Svart Records, that will release it in Fall 2020, alongside a reissue of his debut album. We're all eager to hear what this new record will be like and he has been so kind to answer some questions for all of us, so today we're incredibly excited to offer you this first-hand insight into Henke's upcoming album: from how his experience working on "Poverty Metal" differed from the previous one, to his creative process, from movies which have inspired him, to the new deal with Svart Records, and last but not least, some music and film recommendations: you can read it all below!
